DESCRIBING PART TOLERANCES | |||
|
Describing A Parts' Dimensional Tolerance is Key To Choosing The Best Production Method. Typically the fastest production speeds will be accomplished if a single process is used to manufacture the part. Because of this we must typically take the parts' closest tolerance feature and use that as the baseline tolerance for the entire part. In many cases an internal feature will require a closer tolerance than an outside feature or the location of a feature within the part will require a closer tolerance than the cutout itself. In any of these cases it is important to make it known what the tightest tolerance overall is. Multiple tolerances within the same part may allow for alterantive or multiple combination production methods for your part.
